Emma graduated from Imperial College London in 2009 with a master's degree in Physics, where her studies included plasma physics, quantum mechanics, solid state physics, laser technology and thermodynamics. She followed her undergraduate studies by undertaking a PhD in the Photonics Group at Imperial College London, during which time her research focused on the development of high power diode pumped solid state lasers for potential use in medical and industrial applications.

Emma completed her PhD in 2013 and continued working at Imperial College London as a Research Assistant until joining Keltie in 2015. She is working towards becoming a qualified patent attorney.
