About Catherine

Catherine is a qualified Irish and European Trade Mark Attorney, having obtained her qualification in 2021. She was honoured with the Gearoid O’Sullivan Award by the Irish Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (APTMA) for achieving the highest marks in the 2021 Trade Mark and Design Examination.

Catherine's passion for intellectual property was ignited earlier in her career. In 2018, she was selected by Trinity College Dublin during her LLM program to represent Ireland as a Pan European Seal trainee at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). This opportunity deepened her expertise in IP law and solidified her interest in the field. Catherine then completed her training and went on to work with leading intellectual property firms in Ireland, where she developed her expertise. More recently, in 2024, Catherine had the opportunity to contribute to the CITMA and CIPA European Union Trade Mark Handbook by including EU Certification Marks in the Handbook.

 

With extensive experience managing the filing, prosecution and maintenance of complex and diverse intellectual property portfolios worldwide, Catherine has a strong track record in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has worked with clients ranging from multinational corporations to SMEs across various industries, including food and beverage, construction, retail, manufacturing, fashion, and cosmetics.

 

Catherine is an active member of APTMA and serves on the Association’s social committee.
