Join Keltie and QSECDEF to explore how intellectual property can protect quantum innovation and support its commercial success.
Thank you
Date: Thursday, 5 November 2026
Time: 16:00–19:00
Location: Keltie LLP, No. 1 London Bridge, London, SE1 9BA
Format: In person
Hosted by: Keltie LLP and QSECDEF
Quantum innovation is moving quickly, but developing groundbreaking technology is only part of the challenge. Turning scientific advances into commercially successful and defensible businesses requires a carefully considered intellectual property strategy.
Keltie and QSECDEF are bringing together quantum founders, researchers, investors, IP specialists and established technology companies for an afternoon exploring the role of intellectual property in quantum technology.
The discussion will consider some of the key questions facing quantum innovators: What should be patented? What should remain a trade secret? When is the right time to protect an innovation? And how should intellectual property strategy evolve as technology moves from the laboratory towards commercial application?
Drawing on experience across quantum computing, quantum cryptography, advanced materials, patent strategy and the wider quantum ecosystem, the event will offer practical perspectives on protecting innovation and building long-term commercial value.
The afternoon will also include an Innovation Showcase, featuring emerging quantum technologies and providing selected start-ups and innovators from larger organisations with an opportunity to share what they are developing.
This will be an informal and engaging event, with time for thoughtful discussion, practical insights, drinks and networking with others working across the quantum sector.
This event will be relevant to:
Are you developing an interesting quantum technology, product or application?
We are looking for a small number of quantum start-ups and innovators within larger organisations to participate in the Innovation Showcase. Selected participants will have the opportunity to introduce their technology to an audience drawn from across the quantum and intellectual property communities.
Thank you
