Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Providing on hand support to the attorney on various levels
  • Managing the attorney diary and Critical list to ensure tasks are actioned and deadlines met
  • Generating cost estimates for various levels of recordal and filing projects
  • Client and associate liaison; portfolio management
  • Handling of various recordals such as Assignments, licenses and change of Name/Address
  • Processing of incoming communications/correspondence from IPO’s and Foreign associates
  • Instructing Watching and Searching; management of Watching Services
  • Client onboarding; running conflict checks, preparing necessary documentation and instructions
  • Billing/invoicing runs and keeping on top of the attorney WIP
  • Preparing and filing Trade Mark applications; instructing local associates
  • Dealing with Powers of Attorney; notarisation and legalisation of original documentation 

Knowledge Requirments:

  • Candidates should have 3 – 4 years’ experience working within the industry and demonstrate a good level of understanding of the life cycle of Trade Mark
  • Candidates should demonstrate good knowledge of working within a similar support position undertaking the necessary duties
  • Candidates should have a good understanding of UKIPO, EUIPO, WIPO, and foreign trade mark procedures, and be comfortable with communicating with clients and associates
  • The candidate should hold a CITMA Paralegal qualification
  • Candidate should have knowledge of IP Management Systems

 

Candidate experience and knowledge:

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills are required, together with the ability to work accurately and at pace under pressure
  • Exercise a good level of attention to detail while inputting data to an IP system
  • The role requires the ability to work both autonomously and proactively in a team
  • Candidates must be able to communicate (written and oral) effectively, feeling comfortable in client- facing communications and in working with fee earners to ensure that work is carried out in a timely and effective way to meet client requirements
  • Candidates demonstrates preparedness to work additional hours from time to time to ensure that deadlines are met.
