Career history

Judith joined Keltie in 1992 and became a partner in 1995. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 1995 and as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1997, also becoming a European Trade Mark Attorney that year.

Before this, Judith spent ten years at the UK Patent Office (now the UK Intellectual Property Office) where she mainly examined patent applications in the chemical and polymer science fields. She also enjoyed a three - year secondment to a small team steering the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 through Parliament. This legislation represented a major overhaul of the UK's copyright and design laws.

During her secondment, Judith was also involved in a working group culminating in an EC Directive protecting semiconductor chip topographies and in discussions at WIPO on anti-counterfeiting measures.

After leaving the Patent Office, Judith worked as an in-house patent attorney at a major multinational company where she was responsible for global protection of a number of well-known home care products.

Judith is a member of PTMG.
